Key Facts
- The Center on Postsecondary Education and Disability will offer up to four graduate level courses (3 credits each)
related to the administration and management of college- and university-level disability services.
- The coursework will be completed entirely online, therefore making it accessible to professionals and students anywhere
with an Internet connection. Typically, the course material is released at the start of the week and assignments are due at the
end of the week. Most courses will be asynchronous, allowing students to work at their own pace during the week. However,
some parts of the courses may require synchronous communication, such as live chats.
- Enrollment in these courses is currently limited to 15 students. See the information below for specifics on admissions. The Center for
Continuing Studies at the University of Connecticut will assist in the administration and support of the courses.
Prerequisite
- Access to computer, hardware, and internet access that meets minimum specifications for participation in course delivery via HuskyCT.
Requirements for Admission
- An earned Baccalaureate degree in education or a related field;
- A minimum of a 3.0 upper division undergraduate grade point average or 3.0 graduate grade point average or current graduate status;
and
- Interest or experience working with college students with disabilities.

- All application materials, including official transcripts and personal statement, must be received by August 15, 2011 and
registration is limited to the first 15 admitted students. Students applying after this time may be placed on a waiting list.
Costs
- Course Fees for non-degree students for each 3-credit course is currently set at the University determined cost of $1,969.

Courses
- EPSY 5145 Issues in Postsecondary Disability Services (3 credits); Fall. An examination of issues relating to the
assurance of equal educational access for students with disabilities in postsecondary settings.
- EPSY 5140 Transition Planning for Students with Disabilities (3 credits); Spring. An examination of relevant
legislation and recommended practices related to person-centered transition planning for students with disabilities in
post-school and adult life, including postsecondary education, employment, community participation, and independent living.
- EDLR 5107 Resource Management in Student Affairs Administration (3 credits); Summer. Analysis of higher education
resource development and management with an emphasis on issues in student affairs administration; including, financial management
and analysis, human resource management, and management of information technology resources.
- EPSY 5092 Practicum (3 credits); Spring. The implementation and application of theory in the students area of specialization.
